PURRA diffuser refill: which one should you choose?

3 September 2026 · PURRA

Textiles clairs roulés dans un intérieur épuré, ambiance entretenue par une recharge diffuseur PURRA

A PURRA refill is chosen first by format: the 10 ml bottle fits the C30, the 100 ml Signature Refill fits the X300S and the G300. All six scents exist in both sizes, at €24.90 for the 100 ml bottle, which lasts around 78 days on the low setting, 50 on medium and 25 on high, at 8 hours a day.

A scent refill is a fragrance concentrate from fine perfumery, with no alcohol and no added water, which the diffuser turns into micro-droplets without ever heating it. Choosing yours therefore means answering two questions in order: which format does my device take, then which scent do I want to keep for several weeks. This guide covers both, for those who already own a diffuser and are looking for the right scent refill to buy again.

Key points to remember

Which refill goes in which PURRA diffuser?

The refill format depends only on the diffuser model, never on the scent. The PURRA C30, a portable device designed for 10 m², takes a 10 ml frosted glass bottle that screws directly under the nebulization head. The living room models take the 100 ml Signature Refill, which you pour into a reusable internal bottle.

Diffuser Coverage Refill format Indicative duration
PURRA C30 10 m² 10 ml bottle Around 6 weeks (8 h a day, low setting)
PURRA X300S 100 m² 100 ml Signature Refill 78 days on low, 50 on medium, 25 on high (8 h a day)
PURRA G300 180 m² 100 ml Signature Refill 78 days on low, 50 on medium, 25 on high (8 h a day)
PURRA X300 100 m² 100 ml Signature Refill 78 days on low, 50 on medium, 25 on high (8 h a day)

The most common mistake is ordering a 100 ml refill for a C30: the portable device's bottle measures 6 cm and does not take that volume. Conversely, pouring a 10 ml into a living room model works mechanically, but means refilling about every eight days on the low setting, at 8 hours a day.

On the C30, the 10 ml refill screws under the nebulization head: it is the device's only consumable, with no water tank and no limescale to deal with.

10 ml or 100 ml: which refill format should you choose?

The format is not chosen by volume but by device: ten 10 ml bottles do add up to 100 ml, but they are not used on the same diffusers. The real criterion is the repurchase rhythm: one order roughly every 78 days in 100 ml on the low setting, roughly every six weeks in 10 ml, at 8 hours a day.

Flow rate explains the gap. On a PURRA X300S, consumption is 0.16 ml per hour at intensity I, 0.25 ml at intensity II and 0.5 ml at intensity III: a 100 ml refill therefore represents 625, 400 or 200 hours of continuous diffusion depending on the setting chosen. Use in short time slots stretches those durations accordingly. The subject is covered in detail in our article on how long a diffuser refill really lasts.

In running budget terms, a 100 ml refill at €24.90 for around 78 days on the low setting and 25 on high, at 8 hours a day, works out at €8 to €12 per month per device. The set of six 10 ml bottles, at the same retail price, covers more than eight months of diffusion on a C30 on the low setting, or around €3 per month.

Which device for which coverage

Model Coverage Price Refill
PURRA X300S 100 m² €199.90 100 ml
PURRA G300 180 m² €349.90 100 ml

Beyond 100 m², an entrance hall or a large living room calls for the floor-standing format, as set out in our guide to the floor-standing fragrance diffuser for a reception hall.

Six scents, three broad directions: how do you decide?

The collection includes six scent refills, available in 10 ml as well as in 100 ml: Brise Marine, Musc Blanc, Éclat de Jasmin, Brume de Cologne, Éclat d'Agrumes and Bois Envoûtant. Three directions emerge, marine and citrus freshness, floral and musky, then woody, which is enough to frame a choice in a few seconds.

PURRA is a French brand of cold nebulization home fragrance diffusers, with a range of four diffusers and six scent refills whose signature is inspired by grand hotels. These compositions belong to fine perfumery, with no alcohol and no added water. Cold nebulization diffuses them without heating them, which preserves the balance between top, heart and base notes.

To spread these six scents room by room, our dedicated guide explains which scent to choose for each room. If the refill is intended for someone else, the reasoning changes: it is then better to let them choose, as in our selection of a Christmas gift for a couple. The set of the six scents in 10 ml answers exactly that case.

How do you change your refill without mixing two fragrances?

Replacing a refill takes about ten seconds and requires no tools. The only precaution that matters concerns the change of scent: the circuit keeps traces of the previous fragrance, and a maintenance cycle prevents the two compositions from overlapping for several days.

  1. Switch off the diffuser and unplug it.
  2. Unscrew the collar, then remove the bottle in place. On the C30, you replace the bottle itself; on the living room models, you empty the internal bottle, which is reusable and is never thrown away.
  3. When changing scent, pour 2 to 3 ml of 70% isopropyl alcohol into the empty bottle supplied, run the device for 5 to 8 minutes at maximum intensity in a ventilated room, then let the head dry in the open air.
  4. Fill or replace the bottle with the new refill, then screw it in as far as it goes. A poorly screwed bottle is the leading cause of an absence of mist.
  5. Plug back in, restart at the usual intensity and let the circuit prime for a minute.

This maintenance cycle is also carried out at regular intervals, at least every six months, even without changing fragrance. The full procedure is set out in our guide on cleaning a fragrance diffuser.

When should you reorder your refill so you never run out?

The right moment to order is before the bottle runs out, not after. A 100 ml refill lasts around 78 days on the low setting, at 8 hours a day, dispatch leaves within 24 to 48 hours and delivery takes 2 to 4 days in France: ordering when the bottle is down to a third leaves a comfortable margin.

A device switched off for lack of fragrance quickly drops out of the household's habits, and a second argument favours keeping one bottle ahead: delivery is free from €49 in France, Switzerland and Monaco. A single refill stays below that threshold and carries €8.10 of shipping in France, whereas two refills, or a refill together with a set, clear the bar. Keeping a spare refill in a drawer therefore costs less than ordering one at a time in a hurry.

Frequently asked questions

How many scents do you need at home to avoid getting tired of them?

Two to three scents are enough to avoid olfactory adaptation in a home. The nose eventually stops perceiving a fragrance that is diffused permanently, and alternating two bottles revives perception. The set of six 10 ml bottles covers more than eight months of diffusion on the low setting, at 8 hours a day.

The simplest rhythm is to change scent with each finished bottle, rather than halfway through. A fresh scent in the morning and a woody scent in the evening, on the other hand, require two devices, since a diffuser holds only one bottle at a time.

Do you need a different scent for entertaining and for everyday life?

No, a single well-chosen scent is enough, provided you adjust the intensity. For entertaining, you start diffusion a little before guests arrive and go up one notch; day to day, the lowest intensity consumes 0.16 ml per hour on a PURRA X300S and stays discreet.

Changing fragrance for every gathering costs an opened bottle and a maintenance cycle each time. It is better to keep that move for the seasons: a fresh citrus note in spring, a woody note in winter.

Which premium refill do you give someone who likes woody fragrances?

Bois Envoûtant is the woody refill of the collection, described as a warm woody essence. It exists as a 10 ml bottle for the C30 and as a 100 ml Signature Refill for models with an internal bottle, which represents around 78 days of diffusion on the low setting, 50 on medium and 25 on high, at 8 hours a day.

If the person's taste is not known with certainty, the set of the six scents removes the hesitation: they choose for themselves. A single bottle, on the other hand, remains the right gesture when you already know which scent they use.

How many 10 ml bottles does it take to equal a 100 ml refill?

Ten 10 ml bottles are equivalent in volume to a 100 ml refill, but the two formats are not used on the same devices. The 10 ml is reserved for the C30, the 100 ml for diffusers with an internal bottle. In duration, a 10 ml bottle lasts around six weeks on the low setting, at 8 hours a day.

The difference in duration comes from the flow rate: a device that covers 100 m² consumes more than a portable model designed for 10 m². Comparing the two formats by the litre therefore makes no sense, it is the duration per device that counts.

How much does delivery cost if I order only a refill?

A single refill stays below the €49 threshold that triggers free delivery: shipping then comes to €8.10 in France and €10.00 in Switzerland and Monaco. Ordering two refills ahead, or a refill with a set, clears the threshold.

Orders leave within 24 to 48 hours, for delivery in 2 to 4 days in France and 2 to 5 days in Switzerland and Monaco. Planning one bottle ahead avoids both the shipping cost and the interruption of diffusion.

Can you return a refill whose scent you do not like?

An unopened refill can be returned within the legal withdrawal period: 14 days to declare it, then 14 days to send it back, the original packaging not being a condition. A refill that has already been opened is not taken back, for reasons of hygiene. Returns are accepted, return shipping costs remain payable by the buyer.

The best way to avoid the question is still to try several scents in a small format before committing to a 100 ml. The 2-year legal guarantee of conformity covers the device, not the taste in fragrance.

Is it better to buy the set of 6 scents or a 100 ml refill?

The set of six 10 ml bottles suits the C30 and anyone who wants to try several scents: it covers more than eight months of diffusion on the low setting, at 8 hours a day. The 100 ml refill suits diffusers with an internal bottle and anyone who has already found their scent, for around 78 days at the same rhythm.

The two therefore do not address the same device: this is not a trade-off on price but on compatibility. A C30 owner takes the set or a 10 ml bottle, an X300S or G300 owner takes the 100 ml.

You know which scent you want to keep going this autumn: keep one in reserve with the 100 ml Signature Refill, available in the six scents of the collection.
