PURRA G300 battery life and charging time

14 October 2026 · PURRA

Dalle de travertin beige en lumière rasante, matière minérale pour illustrer l'autonomie et le temps de charge d'un diffuseur de parfum

Fully charged and unplugged, the PURRA G300, an aluminium column 101 cm tall covering 180 m², runs for about 293 hours on setting I, 146 hours on II and 88 hours on III, which is roughly 36 days on the gentle setting on a basis of 8 hours of diffusion per day. Its 10,000 mAh battery charges fully in about 6 hours.

The battery life of a fragrance diffuser is the number of hours the device diffuses while unplugged, starting from a full charge. It is neither the running time of a scent refill nor the charging time of the battery: three figures that spec sheets happily blend together.

The essentials:

  • Battery life of the PURRA G300: 293 hours on setting I, 146 on II, 88 on III, which is roughly 36, 18 and 11 days on a basis of 8 hours of diffusion per day.
  • Full charge in about 6 hours through a USB-C input at 5 V and 2 A, a manufacturer figure.
  • The device runs while charging: plugged in, it keeps diffusing.
  • A 100 ml scent refill lasts 625 running hours on setting I, 400 on II, 200 on III, which is roughly 78, 50 and 25 days on the same basis.
  • Battery life does not separate the PURRA G300 from the PURRA X300S: both carry the same 10,000 mAh battery. What separates them is the area covered.

What battery life does the PURRA G300 state?

The PURRA G300 states about 293 running hours on setting I, 146 hours on setting II and 88 hours on setting III, fully charged and unplugged. On a basis of 8 hours of diffusion per day, that is roughly 36 days on the gentle setting, 18 days on the moderate setting and 11 days on the strongest. These are manufacturer figures.

A factor of three separates the gentlest setting from the strongest, and the reason is mechanical. Cold nebulisation does not send out a continuous veil: it works in bursts. On setting I, the nozzle sprays for 15 seconds then pauses for 200 seconds; on II the pause drops to 100 seconds; on III to 60. Three times as many bursts in the same hour, three times the battery drawn.

The practical consequence is counter-intuitive: battery life depends on the setting you live with, not on the stated capacity of the battery. A device slightly oversized for the room, left on the gentle setting, lasts more hours and uses less refill than a tightly sized device pushed to maximum.

How long does a full charge of the PURRA G300 take?

The 10,000 mAh battery of the PURRA G300 charges fully in about 6 hours, a manufacturer figure. The input is a USB-C port at 5 V and 2 A direct current, and power in use is 10 W at most. The column has no direct mains plug: everything goes through that port.

One methodological reserve belongs with the information. The six-hour sentence appears word for word on several factory spec sheets from the same platform and in no manual: it is a manufacturer figure, never a measurement of ours. At PURRA, we would rather name the source of a number than round it off.

The USB-C port sits in the base of the column: the cable runs along a skirting board rather than across the room.

Does the PURRA G300 diffuse while it charges?

Yes. The device runs while charging: plugged into its USB-C cable, the PURRA G300 keeps diffusing at the chosen setting and within the chosen time window. This is true of all four diffusers in the range, and it changes how the battery should be read, as freedom of placement rather than a countdown.

Two uses follow from it, and they do not exclude each other. In a living room with a socket within reach, the column stays plugged in and the battery only covers interruptions. In a hall or a conservatory with no free socket, it runs unplugged and comes back to charge when the level drops.

Two figures stay outside this page: the lifespan of the battery and its number of charge cycles. None of our factory sources puts a number on them, and an unverifiable number is worth no more than no number at all.

Battery life and refill life: two durations not to be confused

Battery life counts running hours without power, while the life of a scent refill counts running hours until the bottle is empty. On the PURRA G300, the first is 293 hours on setting I and the second 625 hours: it is therefore the refill that sets the real maintenance rhythm, not the charge.

The hours in the table below are running hours stated by the manufacturer; the days are our conversion, obtained by dividing those hours by 8, the daily diffusion basis PURRA uses for every duration it publishes.

Setting Mist cycle Battery life (basis: 8 h per day) 100 ml refill (basis: 8 h per day)
Setting I 15 s of mist, 200 s pause 293 h, roughly 36 days 625 h, roughly 78 days
Setting II 15 s of mist, 100 s pause 146 h, roughly 18 days 400 h, roughly 50 days
Setting III 15 s of mist, 60 s pause 88 h, roughly 11 days 200 h, roughly 25 days

The built-in timer, offering 1 h, 2 h, 4 h and 8 h, acts on both columns at once: a room diffused 4 hours a day instead of 8 doubles the durations in days, for the battery as for the bottle. It is the most rewarding setting on the device, and the one most often forgotten. The format of the consumable does not change: the 100 ml Signature Refill is poured into the reusable inner bottle, which is never thrown away.

The real trade-off, when battery life is not the right criterion. The PURRA X300S covers 100 m² and costs 199.90 euros: it sits on a piece of furniture, 34 cm tall. The PURRA G300 covers 180 m², costs 349.90 euros and stands on the floor, 101 cm tall. Both carry the same 10,000 mAh battery and the same 293 hours on setting I: what to compare is the area and the space available.

Should you choose the PURRA G300 for its battery life or for its coverage?

For its coverage. The PURRA G300 is chosen because it covers 180 m² and stands on the floor, never because it would last more hours than another model: its battery life is identical to that of the PURRA X300S, which covers 100 m². Buying a 101 cm column to gain battery hours means paying for a volume you do not need.

PURRA is a French brand of home fragrance diffusers using cold nebulisation: four devices and six scent refills, each calibrated for a specific volume, 10 m² for the portable format, 100 m² for the model on furniture, 180 m² for the floor-standing column. The manufacturer, for its part, states that coverage as a volume, at 300 cubic metres.

The limit deserves to be written rather than worked around. Beyond 180 m², a hall leaves the stated coverage of the PURRA G300, and the honest answer is not to push the setting to maximum: it is to plan two diffusion points. The full review of the column goes into this, and our guide to premium diffusers takes the trade-off model by model.

A last word on the purchase framework, which often weighs more than battery life: delivery is free from 49 euros of purchase in France, Switzerland and Monaco, the right of withdrawal is 14 days, and the two-year legal guarantee of conformity applies. The shipping date shown on the product page is the only one that commits us. When the device is meant as a gift the reasoning changes, and our articles on a gift funded by several people and on a useful gift that is not thrown away take it from that side.

Frequently asked questions

What budget should you plan for a premium battery-powered fragrance diffuser?

Count on 199.90 euros for a model on furniture covering 100 m² and 349.90 euros for a floor-standing column covering 180 m², with a 10,000 mAh battery in both cases. The PURRA G300 is 349.90 euros, scent refill included, and delivery is free from 49 euros of purchase.

The budget does not stop at the device, and that is the part people forget. A 100 ml refill at 24.90 euros lasts 625 running hours on the gentle setting, roughly 78 days on a basis of 8 hours of diffusion per day: that puts fragrance at around 10 euros a month per device at that setting, three times more on the strongest one. The prices given are those read on the day of writing.

Do the stated battery hours match real use?

They match use at a constant setting, which is almost never the case at home. The 293 hours on setting I, 146 hours on II and 88 hours on III are running hours stated by the manufacturer, on a full battery: the figure holds if you stay on the same setting.

Two gaps appear in practice. Changing setting along the way shifts consumption, so the observed battery life falls between two of the three values. And a plugged-in device does not draw on its battery, since it diffuses while charging: placed near a socket, it will never reach the end of those hours. The conversion into days depends on daily diffusion time, and we always publish it on a basis of 8 hours per day so that it stays verifiable.

Why does the battery life of a diffuser vary threefold depending on the setting?

Because cold nebulisation works in bursts. The nozzle sprays for 15 seconds, then pauses for 200 seconds on setting I, 100 seconds on setting II and 60 seconds on setting III. Three times as many bursts per hour, so roughly three times less battery life: 293 hours against 88.

It also explains why fragrance consumption follows exactly the same slope, from 0.16 to 0.5 millilitres per running hour. The setting acts on the battery and on the bottle at the same time, in the same proportion. A device sized for the room and left on the gentle setting is therefore cheaper on both counts than a device too small pushed to maximum.

Is a floor-standing diffuser too bulky as a gift?

A floor-standing column measures 101 centimetres tall and 20 centimetres across, the footprint of a small side table. It is only bulky in small homes: in a living space close to 100 m², the floor-standing format reads as a piece of furniture rather than as an appliance.

The right question is not the size of the object but the floor space available and the area to be covered. In a studio or a one-bedroom flat, the portable 10 m² format is the right choice, and the rest of the budget goes elsewhere. In a living room open onto a kitchen, the column delivers on its promise. An oversized device rewards no one: it runs at minimum and takes up a space people hold against it.

Should you charge a fragrance diffuser before giving it as a gift?

It is not necessary, but it changes the first minute. A full charge takes about 6 hours through a USB-C input at 5 V and 2 A: a device charged in advance starts up in front of the person, with no cable to find and no socket to free on the day it is opened.

Two precautions if you do. The original packaging must stay presentable, because a withdrawal within 14 days requires an unused device in its box: charging is not using, but filling the bottle is. And the white transport part stays in place until the person commissions the device, otherwise the first gesture of discovery is taken away from them.

Can you fragrance a trade show stand with no electrical socket?

Yes, and that is precisely what the battery is for. Fully charged, the PURRA G300 diffuses for about 293 hours on setting I, where a three-day show open 8 hours a day calls for 24 of them, and it needs no power supply on site since everything goes through its USB-C port.

Two settings are worth the detour on a stand. Setting II, with its 100 seconds of pause between bursts, suits a constantly crossed volume stirred by air conditioning better than a gentle setting does. And the 8-hour timer avoids diffusing into an empty hall once the show has closed, which spares the bottle without taking anything away from what visitors notice. The column stands on a hard, flat floor, away from walkways.

If the space to cover exceeds 100 m² and floor space is available, the column is the answer: discover the PURRA G300 and its 180 m² of coverage.
